About The owner, Julie Melanson Fraysier
The Beginning of Cozy Bottoms LLC
In the middle of my first pregnancy, a relative suggested I use cloth diapers with my future child. I thought...mmm okay... but honestly thought it was an ancient, inconvenient practice and only for the most die-hard "green" families out there. I felt bad for totally dismissing the idea and decided to at least look into it. I like to recycle and my husband and I aim for 1 bag or garbage per week... so we make efforts to do what's best for the environment. Cloth diapers were starting to make sense - economically and ecologically.
I soon learned that cleaning cloth diapers was no icky-er than cleaning the most soiled baby's bottom... which you'll find yourself doing no matter what diaper you use. Two wash cycles + some drying time = clean diapers. That's it!! I was convinced I could manage diaper laundry, and a newborn baby. We started my daughter at 1 week old and she's been cloth diapered ever since (now 15 months). My stash of about 50 cloth diapers (mostly prefolds + diaper covers) has replaced the need for over 3,000 disposable diapers - what i would have used in just one year!! Even better, I can use these for year two as well as for any future kids. 50 cloth diapers or thousands of disposables? You decide.
Back on topic now... Cozy Bottoms LLC was started to assist families in the process of "going cloth". We are focused on becoming a cloth diaper presence in the Farmington Valley and Greater Hartford areas of Connecticut. Feel free to shoot us an e-mail or give us a call anytime if you have any questions about cloth diapers.
